Introduction

Hello curly girly and welcome to DWCG! My name is Curran Hall and I am the owner and founder of Don't Worry Curly Girly, a platform designed to help and support women with curly hair who need help with style tips, what products to use, and how to deal with the beauty (and pain) that is naturally curly hair.

My Story and Inspiration

I am a current student at The Catholic University of a America and I am studying marketing and entrepreneurship at the Busch School of Business. I am also the oldest of three girls and grew up in a biracial household. My sisters and I each have a different curl patterns from the next, and growing up our mother struggled to take care of our curly hair because it was so different from hers. She took us to multiple hair salons over the years, yet none of them were ever completely successful in helping us on our curly hair journey. Eventually I realized that I, being the big sister, was gonna have to figure something out. I watched videos and researched popular products and trends that would help me and my sisters maintain our curls. Over the past few years, I’ve experimented with different techniques and products—some worked, some didn’t—but now I’ve perfected my routine, and I’m here to help you discover yours!

About the Name

When brainstorming a name for my new business, I wanted something that would tell a story and was unique to me. The inspiration came from what my family affectionately calls my "worry curl". Since childhood, whenever I felt anxious or nervous, I would twirl a curl behind my ear to help calm me down and give me something else to focus on. It is a habit that has stayed with me for as long as I can remember and has become a part of who I am, so it only felt right to incorporate into the name of my business. And so, Don't Worry Curly Girly was born!

DWCG is here to help you understand your curls so that you can better take care of your hair and lover your natural, beautiful hair. Our website will offer posts including hair routine and style tips, product reviews, the difference between curl types, and anything else you curly girlies want to see. We will teach you how to experiment with different products so you can curate the perfect routine for you. Together we will learn from our mistakes and share our experiences to help one another fall in love with our curly hair.
